Darlene N. Uelmen

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. Private inurnment will take place in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
A visitation for Darlene will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
Darlene N. Uelmen, age 88 of Kenosha died on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at HRC Manor Care.
Born on May 27, 1925 in Garner, IA, she was the daughter of the late William Joseph and Helen Mae (Cassel) Lawhorn.
On September 2, 1944 at St. John the Baptist Church in Paris Township, Darlene was united in marriage to Floyd G. Uelmen. Sadly he preceded her in death on May 25, 1976.
Darlene and Floyd moved to Tucson, AZ in 1974, before Darlene returned to Kenosha in 2006.
In her younger years she was employed with Walgreens, J.C. Penney, and Walmart while she lived in Tucson, AZ. Darlene enjoyed genealogy and loved doing crafts.
Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Mark and Judy Uelmen; her grandson, Daniel (Elizabeth) Uelmen; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Alexandra Uelmen; her siblings, Virginia (Ronald) Gerou, Juanita Schweda, Jo Ann (Daniel) Brown, Donna (Russel) Chaney, and William (Mary Beth) Lawhorn.
Along with her husband, Darlene was preceded in death by a son, Dale Uelmen; a sister Sharon Lawhorn, and a brother, Gary Lawhorn.
