It is with great sadness that Sandra and I learned of the passing of Bill. We lived across the street from Bill and Judy for a number of years before moving to Sioux Falls, SD in July of 2005. Bill was always ready, willing and able to help us out with advice on our lawn or any other project we had going around the house. Bill and i both worked for the Kenosha Unified School District so we had that in common. On a few occasions he would be doing carpentry work in the school where I worked. Bill always had a smile on his face and was a cheerful neighbor and colleague. He will be missed.

Dear Judy, Walt Winters passed on the news or Bill’s passing to me, and I told all of our family members here. We’re saddened. To you Judy and to all of you in the Stan Ruts family, Louise and I and the rest of us here want you to know you have our kind thoughts and condolences. Not all of us here knew Bill well, some of us too young and having moved away in the early 80’s. But Louise and I did and we’re touched by the fact that he’s not here any more. I want to pass on a few thoughts. First of all Judy, I remember you a long time ago, telling our cousin Yvonne and I think Joyce, how much you were so excited and happy to be betrothed to Bill. This was in the basement of 4124, where we did the wash. As you told Yvonne of Bill’s attributes and how much you were enthralled with him, I sat on the side and took it in. This is one of these things I remember, I must have been impressed; my cousin Judy, in love and so excited about this guy, Bill. Later cousin Jim and Bill and I took a few trips to the Mississippi after sauger and walleye. I got to know these guys better and in a different way than when all of us were young kids. I always enjoyed being with Bill in the outdoors. What a capable, knowledgeable and formidable guy about the field and stream stuff, and what an easy guy to be comfortable with in those many scenes I remember. I loved being with him. And this in the many family situations and events we were together; the Christmas Eves, the picnics, weddings and funerals. Bill was always if not a blood Ruts, pretty close to it. Bill had a personal charm that disarmed all of us. He was a fine man and I’ll miss him. As Bill passes through the pearly gates into heaven, I’m sure he’s regaling St. Peter and the assembled saints with his ‘cash register finger’ story. And now Judy, Bill has gone on. But no longer here; not really. He is among us. He’s in Jeff and Dan, and is in our remembrances. He’s still around. He’s looking down on us smiling, with that Bill smile of his. And he’s saying don’t worry, I’m okay. Kind thoughts, and love, Your cousin Peter

We were so sorry to see the passing of Bill and our thoughts and prayers go out to Judy and the family. We all went to school together and we have great memories of Bill and Judy also. There is a saying that has helped me get through these times. I hope it will be a comfort to you.. "Those who live no more still echo Within our thoughts and words, And what they did has become Woven into what we are." Judy and Jerry

Dear Judy, Jeff and Dan. Our deepest sympathy goes out to all of you. Only met Bill a few times but my brother Charles felt him as a father figure, and for that we are all grateful that he took him under his wing as one of his own. What a gracious man! The Seefeldt Family
