Obituary:

James Francis "Jim" Vojta, 70, of Pleasant Prairie, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012, surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, IL.

Born on May 1, 1941 in Chicago, he was the son of the late James and Genevieve (Buchta) Vojta.  Following his education at St. Mary's of Perpetual Help School in Chicago, Jim enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1958.  Jim served aboard the U.S.S. WASP as a 3rd Class Machinery Repairman where he was decorated with the Expeditionary Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal prior to his honorable discharge in 1964.

From 1960 until 1980, Jim was married to Judy (Kramer) Vojta and is survived by his current wife, Vonnie (Exner) Vojta.

Jim applied the skills he learned in the Navy to a successful career as a tool and die maker for Outboard Marine Corporation, retiring in 1998.

Jim grew up watching the Chicago White Sox and was an avid Chicago Bulls and Chicago Bears fan.  He enjoyed golfing and bowling in his spare time but his true love was fishing.  His favorite way to relax was spending time at his trailer in Markesan, WI where the fish were always biting on Little Green Lake.

Jim is survived by his daughters, Valorie (Mark) Molinaro, Jr. of Kenosha and Dawn (Rich) Henderson of Bellingham, Washington; and his sister, Gloria (Bill) Pradzinski of Chicago.  He is also survived by, and so very proud of his grandchildren, Bryan Delfs, Kimberly and Mark Molinaro, III and Gabrielle, Analiese and Delaney Henderson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Delfs.

Jim's family would like to thank the skilled and compassionate staff at the Lovell Center for the care each and every one of them provided throughout his fight.
