Service:

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 23, 2012.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2224 45th Street.  Relatives and friends are asked to meet at the church for the Mass.  Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery. 

Visitation:

A visitation for Filomena will be held on Sunday, January 22nd from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue. 

Memorial:

In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to American Parkinson's Disease Association, Wisconsin Chapter, P. O. Box 7513, Madison, WI  53707 would be appreciated.

Obituary:

Filomena Mesoraca, age 77 of Kenosha, passed on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at United Hospital System - St. Catherine's Campus, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Rocca Bernarda, Italy on February 25, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Raffaele and Angelina (Messina) Montemurro.  She received her education in the schools of Italy.

On January 10, 1953 in Rocca Bernarda, Italy, she married Giuseppe "Joe" Mesoraca.  In May of 1967, they moved to Kenosha making it their new home where they raised their family.  Joe preceded her in death on October 31, 2007.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  Filomena was an accomplished cook, avid vegetable and flower gardener and knitter.  She will be remembered as being a great friend and loving neighbor to many. 

Left to remember Filomena's love of her family are her seven daughters, Rosa (Gary) Reagles, Angie (Scott) Davenport, Mimma (Eric) Davenport, Franca (Michael) Amaro, Raffaelina Keenan, Aggie (Douglas) Arnold and Elisa (Devo) Hyatt; her sister-in-law, commare Angie Montemurro; her eleven grandchildren, Leona and Byron Reagles, Gina and Ryan Davenport, Anthony Davenport, Jack and Joey Amaro, Matt and Tim Keenan and Adam and Sam Arnold; and her four great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Antonio Mesoraca; and three brothers, Francesco, Antonio and Leonardo Montemurro.

Aggie & Doug - I didn't see this until the morning of the 23rd. Sorry to hear about your Mom, Aggie. We only have two parents. As you know, it's hard enough losing one much less two.
