August 11, 1919 - September 10, 2011


Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home, 3720 39th Avenue.  Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. 



A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 14th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, 3720 39th Avenue. 


Kenneth I. Wood, age 92 of Kenosha, died peacefully at his residence on Saturday, September 10, 2011.

Born in Decorah, IA on August 11, 1919, he was the son of the late Edward and Ingrid (Engen) Wood.

From December 30, 1942 until his honorable discharge on February 2, 1946, Ken honorably served our country in the Army Air Force.  He attained the rank of Sergeant and served in the China-Burma-India Theatre.  Ken proudly received the American Theater and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medals.

On August 11, 1951, he was united in marriage to Mary Louise Edwards.  She preceded him in death on August 5, 1990.  On February 14, 1993 in Kenosha, he was married to Diane (Grunwaldt) Loquai.

For many years, Ken owned and operated Mamma Mia's Bar and Restaurant in Park City, IL.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #21 and was an avid Packer and Badger fan.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; his son, Randy K. (Lisa) Wood; two granddaughters, Jacqueline (Anthony) Merten and Tera (Kevin Vizenor) Petty; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Ardyth Predney and Eunice Huber. 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Herman, Lester and Galerd Wood; and a step son, James Lee Hawley.

Dear Randy and Lisa

So sorry to see that Kenny past away.  I will always remember him standing tall in the back of MaMa Mia's. His smile and kindness will always be in my heart. Joe said he also recalls many memories wilth Kenny.  Our prayers are with your family.

Our condolances tq Randy and his family. It was a pleasure to have KENNY  stand up for my wedding many  years ago I<m sure he will be missed by many people and loved ones.

I know you are in a much better place now, Every morning when I grab my coffee cup and not have to grab yours, I will be sad, that I dont have my buddy to share coffee with and chat. I won't have anyone to bake for on a weekly basis. I am so glad that I have 18 years with the most,

 Full Hearted, kind, Handsom man, besides your son, Kiss in my life. I could have not asked for anymore from my Father-In-Law. I love you always.

Thank you for all that you are, give Pudge kisses from us all. Gage and Bella & Cali will miss Grandpa Kenny thier Dounut buddy! You sure gave all of us so many reasons to love you.
