Elvetici, age 79 of Kenosha, passed away quietly from the loving embrace of her family on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at St. Joseph's Home, after battling the odds to survive pancreatic cancer with a magnificently optimist spirit for two years. Born on March 8, 1931 in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Domenick and Carmelena (Nicolazzi) Zucca. Josephine was employed with Kenosha Unified Schools Food Service, working at various schools in the area. She retired in 1991. Prior to her retirement, Josephine also worked at the Kenosha Unified Education Support Center. Prior to working at Kenosha Unified Schools, she was employed at Simmons Company and Frost Company. She was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. Josephine enjoyed baking, cooking and her weekly domino games at her best friend Carmella's home. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Many lasting memories were made weekly when the family gathered for Sunday dinners. She was kind and selfless and will be remembered for her generous spirit and happy go lucky personality. She is survived by her son, Steve (Diana) Elvetici of Kenosha; her two daughters, Lyn Elvetici and Barbara Brown, both of Kenosha; her five loving grandchildren, Melissa and Nicholas Brown, and Anthony, Venessa and Juliana Elvetici; and her two adoring great grandchildren, Anthony Elvetici, Jr. and Alyssa Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond D. Zucca. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and residents of St. Joseph's Home for their compassion, care and unwavering dedication they provided to Josephine and her family. |
