Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Piasecki-Althaus Funeral Home. Private inurnment will take place in All Saints Mausoleum.
A visitation for Anne will be held on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In accordance with Anne's wishes, please omit flowers and direct memorials to Hospice Alliance, Inc., 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd., Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158.
Anne C. Walsh, age 86 of Kenosha, joined her husband and daughter in heaven on Tuesday, December 15, 2009.
Born in Kenosha on November 1, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Gregory and Mary (Nemetz) Kovacev. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School.
On December 29, 1941 at St. James Catholic Church, she was married to Donald J. Walsh. He preceded her in death on June 27, 2007.
For sixteen years, she was employed at Johns Mansville as a clerk. Prior to Johns Mansville, she was employed at National Envelope Company of North Chicago and Newberry's Dime Store.
Anne attended St. Mary Catholic Church and was a member of the Amity Lodge #692/Croation Fraternal Union. She had a passion for cooking and enjoyed making homemade Croatian dishes. Over the years Anne acquired an extensive collection of cookbooks. She also spent her time baking, reading, solving puzzle books and gardening.
She is survived by her brother, Steve Kovacev of Monroeville, PA; and her nieces and nephews, Eve Vaughn, Aldonna McCoy, Marianna Hurrell, Jeanne Polden, John Greisen, Tony Nemetz, Mary Whitcher and Rose Schetgen.
In addition to her parents and husband, waiting for Anne with open arms was her daughter, Donna Walsh.
